Drink me, I am “Famous”! We are not speaking of a music compilation album, but the almost forgotten grape Famoso (aka Uva Rambela), rediscovered among two rows of old vines in Emilia-Romagna just 15 years ago.
Since then, a few dedicated winemakers - made by Ancarani winery - have taken up Famoso's cause for survival. We know that unusual Italian whites can sometimes be big guessing for customers, but we promise that Famoso is pleasant, dry and complex, and in no way oily, oxidized, or weird. If you like dry Malvasia or Muscat, then you will enjoy Famoso. Made with hand-picked grapes and fermented in neutral vats with native yeast before ageing in old barrels.
